Mahreen Chaudhry Hoda
Mahreen joined Elmore Patent Law Group in 2007 after acquiring deep experience in all facets of patent application and protection, both at the United States Patent & Trademark Office (the PTO) and at a start-up biotechnology company. After pivoting from a path to medical school, Mahreen joined the PTO as a Patent Examiner in an organic chemistry group (Art unit 1623 – Organic Chemistry and Enzyme Assays). She subsequently joined a fledgling biopharmaceutical company to manage the company’s patent portfolio.
Mahreen’s diverse professional experience enables her to address client challenges from different vantage points to arrive at practical, cost-effective solutions. Her training and professional experience at the PTO provides insights to guide successful patent applications, while her work at a start-up developed an appreciation for using resources wisely and carefully to accommodate budget constraints.
AT EPLG, Mahreen drafts and prosecutes patent applications specializing in life sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceutical technology areas. Mahreen also guides and collaborates with foreign associates on the prosecution of foreign patent applications.

Outside the Office
Mahreen enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She is also an avid fiction reader, enjoys travel, and serves on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion group in her town.
